KoreaBIO, together with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Seoul, will co-host an online webinar titled “The Biotech Ecosystem in South Korea 2026” on September 16, 2026!
The webinar will provide Spanish biotech and life sciences companies with an overview of Korea’s biomedical biotechnology ecosystem and explore opportunities for business collaboration and co-development between Korea and Spain.

Korea is one of the world’s leading countries in R&D investment as a share of GDP, with continued growth in biotechnology R&D. The Korean government has also announced its ambition to position Korea among the world’s top five biotechnology powerhouses by 2035, supported by national-level initiatives including the establishment of the National Biotechnology Committee.
Through this session, participants will gain insights into Korea’s biotech market, business opportunities, regulatory considerations, and bilateral cooperation programs between Spain and Korea.
