BIO 2026 marked a milestone for Korea's bioindustry with the first-ever official BIO conference session dedicated to Korea, alongside a series of global networking and partnership programs that showcased Korea's growing presence in the global biotech ecosystem.

Jointly operated by KoreaBIO and KOTRA, exhibitors presented innovative technologies and pipelines across new drug development, platform technologies, CDMO, clinical trials, molecular diagnostics, medical AI, and AI-driven drug discovery (and more).
A press briefing held on the opening day attracted approximately 30 Korean media outlets, reflecting strong interest in Korea's growing competitiveness within the global biotechnology industry.

BIO Conference Session - Korea Rising: Don't Be Late to Asia's Next Innovation Hub




The first official BIO conference session highlighting Korea's growing role in the global biotech industry.
Panelists emphasized the importance of diversifying business models beyond technology licensing by strengthening global partnerships, advancing late-stage clinical development, expanding open innovation, and accelerating international commercialization.

Korea Night @BIO 2026 - Networking event (June 23)











Korea Night attracted approximately 1,200 participants from around the world, including representatives from biotech companies, pharmaceutical companies, venture capital firms, research institutes, and industry organizations. International attendees accounted for 55 percent of participants!
Jointly hosted by KoreaBIO, the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association (KPBMA), KOTRA, and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), with supported from 13 additional Korean organizations.

Roundtable on Advancing Korea-U.S. Biopharmaceutical Innovation (June 23)

Co-hosted by KoreaBIO and the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), bringing together 19 member companies from both countries, along with representatives from Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR), the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).
